The first Stiebel Eltron tankless water heater was first manufactured in 1927, three years after Dr. Theodor Stiebel founded the company. It was a small 1000 W point of use system.
By 1931, the company expanded its range of products to include tankless water heaters but also various other heating and storage hot water appliances. Since then, Stiebel Eltron has become the largest manufacturer of water heaters in Germany and is known for high quality and well engineered products.
In 1980 Stiebel Eltron set up operations in North America where it maintains a sales, service, distribution and parts facility to this day and all products made for the North American market are produced in Germany or in the U.S. although they have plants worldwide.
The company's main focus in product development is safer, more energy efficient products that meet the demands of modern day consumers. Stiebel Eltron offers an extensive selection of point-of-use, multiple point-of-use, and whole house tankless water heaters, as well as, thermal solar products and different heating systems.
Stiebel Eltron's North American sales office and warehouse is located in West Hatfield, Massachusetts.
